Richard Keppler Sr. began working in the water treatment business in 1974. Then struck out on his own and founded A-1 Watercare in 1990. His mission was to run a business that offered quality American made water treatment products with up front and affordable pricing.

For eleven years Richard Keppler Sr. began to build a substantial customer base to support A-1 Watercare and of course his family.

After graduating from college in 2001, his son, Richard Keppler Jr. joined the business bringing in a second generation of the Keppler name to A-1 Watercare.

For over 20 years Richard Keppler Jr. has continued to develop a loyal customer following for A-1 Watercare by supplying American made solutions to water problems in the Medina, Buffalo, Rochester and the Western New York area.

Most recently in 2020 Richard made the decision to join with the nation’s fastest growing water treatment manufacturer, Aqua Systems.
